SeaWorld San Antonio Announces Plans for New Theme Area “Rescue Jr.”
(eap) SeaWorld San Antonio is set to open a new themed area for kids, “Rescue Jr.”, in spring 2025, in which young visitors will be able to learn more about rescue and rehabilitating marine animals in a playful way. Also, there will also be several new attractions in the area. The highlight: a family-friendly coaster of the “FORCE Custom” type from German manufacturer Zierer. This will have a track length of around 400 metres, a max. height of around 15 metres and a max. speed of approx. 50 km/h. Passengers will take their seats in one of ten coaster cars, which will be designed as beach jeeps – themed to give young guests the feeling that they are on a rescue mission. Also, there will be a train ride called “Ocean Quest Express” as well as a chain carousel – “Seabird Swing” – from the Italian company Zamperla. Furthermore, on warm days, the young guests will be able to cool off in the new “Tide Pool Tumble” water playground with various elements from Vortex.
“Rescue Jr. will be an exciting addition to our park and put marine animal rescue at the forefront with our guests. The new play area will be a fun and exciting way for our guests to learn about the animal rescues that our dedicated teams do every day, 365 days a year,” highlights Jeff Davis, Park President, SeaWorld San Antonio. “We know that Rescue Jr., along with all of our animal habitats and presentations, will ignite a passion in young hearts, inspiring them to become future animal rescuers, scientists, veterinarians or conservationists.”
The new theme area for kids coming in 2025 follows this year’s opening of the world’s first Launched Flume Coaster "Catapult Falls" from Intamin at SeaWorld San Antonio, a major ride for the entire family. ■
