Cacau Park: New Chocolate Theme Park Emerging in Brazil

(eap) In the municipality of Itu in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, construction work has begun on a new chocolate-themed park. The development is a large-scale project by chocolate manufacturer Cacau Show – the company is investing around two billion Brazilian Real (approx. 320 million Euros) into Cacau Park.

With an area of around 700 hectares, Cacau Park is set to become the largest chocolate-themed amusement park in Latin America. A shopping mall, two hotels and a chocolate factory are also planned as part of the development. In addition, more than 50 attractions, including the largest roller coaster on the South American continent with a height of 55 meters and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Among other suppliers, the European companies Vekoma and Zamperla have been commissioned as ride manufacturers. 

Photo: Courtesy of Vekoma According to official figures, around 2,800 jobs will be generated during the building and construction phase, while around 3,800 direct full-time jobs and more than 6,000 indirect jobs will be created when the destination opens – which is currently scheduled for 2027. Cacau Park is expected to welcome more than three million visitors a year. ■
