Denmark’s Knuthenborg Safaripark to Expand Accommodation Offer

As announced today, Knuthenborg Safaripark in Lolland/Denmark will expand its accommodation offer and develop from a day experience to a resort by adding special tents, which will rest on poles two meters above ground and offer close-up experiences with wild animals. With this strategic step, the safari park, which recently welcomed more than 250,000 visitors, intends to extend the duration of stay of its guests in the future.

“The Dinosaur Forest [Editor’s note: cp. EAP news f. 8 Nov 2017] has made us feel ready to expand our accommodation. Partly because the audience feedback has been extremely positive, but also because we can see that the visit to the safari park can easily extend over two days,“ park director Christoffer Knuth explains. “In fact, before the main season, we have increased the number of visitors far more than we had dreamed of for the whole year, and therefore it gives us the opportunity to take this serious step forward,“ he adds.

The first “Savannah tents“ are expected to be available to guests in the spring of 2019. Should the new accommodation offer be well received, further expansion to a total of up to 200 tents is planned for the next couple of years. (eap)
