France: Parc Astérix Launches New Summer Season Program with New Events & Parade
On 14 July, Parc Astérix, located 30 kilometers north of Paris and belonging to the Compagnie des Alpes group, will start into its summer season, which will be celebrated until 28 August with a special program for guests. In addition to extended opening hours – during this period the park will be open until 10pm – visitors can expect a series of events, including “Les Plongeons de l’Olympe”. This new show at the 3,000-seat “Théâtre de Poséidon” is a high diving show in which eight acrobats dressed as athletic Romans and Gauls compete and perform spectacular jumps from a 25-meter high tower into a water basin.
Also newly presented will be “Défilé Gaulois”, the park parade featuring the park’s many comic characters and mascots, with completely new music. This summer it will have three floats on which Cleopatra, Caesar and the Gauls will present themselves. And those visitors who have not yet taken a ride on “Tonnèrre 2 Zeus”, the renewed wooden coaster, shouldn’t miss the chance. (eap)
