France: Spain’s Aspro Ocio Group Acquires Walygator Parc
According to media reports, the Spanish operator group Aspro Ocio acquired France’s Walygator Parc, located close to the city of Metz in the Lorraine area, via its Luxembourg-based subsidiary Continental Leisure Projects (CLP) in mid-January. Previously, the 47 hectare park was owned by the investors Jacqueline Lejeune, Franck Deglin and François Jérôme Parent, who had taken over the park in 2013 (cf. EAP News from April 3, 2013). Furthermore, Lejeune served as the park's CEO. It can be assumed that the previous management team has passed on the park with a positive balance to the new operator group as visitor numbers could be increased within the last years due to several investments and measures to enhance the park’s attractiveness. In 2015, the park invested in its new themed area “Dino World” (cf. EAP, issue 5/2015).
Founded in 1991, the Aspro Ocio Group today owns around 60 amusement and water parks, aquariums and zoos in several European countries. (eap)
