GB/Australia: Wet’n’Wild Sydney Adds Virtual Queuing Technology
The British accesso® Technology Group, which develops technology solutions for the leisure and entertainment industry, recently announced a new three-year agreement with Village Roadshow Theme Parks to install its “accesso LoQueueSM” virtual queuing solution at Wet’n’Wild Sydney water park.
With more than 40 slides and attractions, Wet’n’Wild Sydney is a popular water park in Australia and will add the patented “accesso LoQueue QbandSM” to nine attractions in due time for the upcoming Australian summer season. The “Qband” is accesso’s waterproof RFID wristband that allows guests to save their spot in line for their favorite attractions using touchscreen kiosks, allowing them to queue without physically standing in line. They are notified on their wristband’s countdown display when it’s their turn. After the Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas water park, the Australian destination is the second in integrating the Qband bracelet to extend the guest experience.
“The Qband has been very popular at our Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas park and now guests at our Sydney park will be able to get more out of their visit, spending less time in line and more time enjoying our world-class attractions,” said Dianne Rigg, General Manager of Wet’n’Wild Sydney. Steve Brown, accesso CEO, added: “We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with Village Roadshow and we are excited about further extending accesso’s presence in Australia. This agreement reinforces Village Roadshow’s trust in our solution and the opportunity we have to make a sizeable impact on their guest experience.”
At the beginning of this year, the British company already signed a contract renewal with the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation to further integrate its “LoQueue” solution in the 18 North American Six Flags theme parks until 2025 (c.f. EAP news from February 12th, 2016). (eap)
