Germany: Freizeitpark Plohn to Open Germany’s First Big Dipper Coaster in 2019
To strengthen its appeal as an amusement park for all generations, Germany’s Freizeitpark Plohn, which already offers numerous lovely family attractions, announced yesterday the construction of a new rollercoaster to especially cater to teenagers and adult thrill-seekers. Inspired by the “Lost Gravity” steel coaster at Walibi Holland, which comprises a compact track layout with carriages for up to eight riders each (cf. our cover story in EAP, 3/16), the Saxon park also decided to build this ride type from German manufacturer Mack Rides.
Under the name “Dynamite” the new coaster is scheduled to be launched in 2019 as Germany’s first Big Dipper coaster, replacing the park’s outdated “Silver Mine” attraction (a Flitzer from Zierer). Just as “Lost Gravity”, the new ride for Freizeitpark Plohn will be custom-designed – visitors to the park are already excited to learn more about the new coaster’s track layout and design. (eap)
