Germany: Positive Full-Year Results for Karlsruher Bäder Bathing Complexes
The Karlsruher Bäder municipal bathing complex operator, including ten indoor & outdoor pools in the city of Karlsruhe/Germany, has taken stock for the 2018 financial year, during which a total of 609,858 bathing guests were welcomed at the four related outdoor pools. The indoor facilities recorded a total attendance of 1,057,223 guests, exceeding the results of 2017 with a total of 1.5 million guests in the indoor & outdoor pools (cf. EAP News f. Feb 22nd, 2018). Last year, the Europabad alone welcomed over 450,000 visitors, not least thanks to the expansion of its existing slide park by adding the new “Tarantula” cone slide (supplied by Klarer Freizeitanlagen, cf. EAP 1/19).
Also, the modernized Fächerbad – an indoor sports pool of Karlsruher Bäder – has registered an increase in attendance with 335,633 guests in 2018. “Our aim is to surpass the number of 350,000 visitors permanently. The sauna offer of the Fächerbad has become outdated and requires an investment,” said Oliver Sternagel, CEO of Karlsruher Bäder. Mayor Martin Lenz added, “In the coming years we will further invest in the related bathing facilities in order to keep them attractive for visitors.” (eap)
