Japan: World’s Second “Farm Fair”-Themed Dark Ride Now Open at Nagashima Spa Land

Japan’s Nagashima Spa Land leisure and water park, which is located close to the city of Nagoya, has recently launched its latest attraction, a “Farm Fair”-themed dark ride realized by Dutch Lagotronics company. The attraction is the second dark ride worldwide featuring Lagotronics’ self-created Farm Fair IP and storyline (Germany’s Bayern-Park opened a GameChanger dark ride from Lagotronics with Farm Fair theme in 2018, cf. EAP 5/18).

The new visitor offer was realized in an existing building of the park: Under the name of “Farm de Bang Bang” it invites guests to an animal barn festival, which comes to life in seven 3D interactive gaming scenes. Sitting in agricultural-themed vehicles with a capacity of four persons each (ten vehicles in total), riders – equipped with 3D glasses – pass through the scenes in order to collect points by hitting targets on the 3D screens with their personal “carrot shooters”. The real-time video game is based on full HD graphics and takes guests to different locations at the farm, such as a meadow, the barn or the kitchen. On two built-in monitors in each vehicle, players can see their personal score – the highest scores are displayed in the exit area of the attraction engaging visitors to try again.

The Farm Fair dark ride at Nagashima Spa Land was realized by Lagotronics in cooperation with Germany’s ART Engineering company and Japan-based KCA Corporation. By the way: Lagotronics is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year – read more about the company’s development in recent years and its strategic plan for the future in our upcoming EAP issue 3/19 (to be published on May 2nd).
