Plopsa Indoor Hasselt Celebrates Start of Its Anniversary Season
(eap) The Belgian indoor theme park Plopsa Indoor Hasselt celebrated the start of its anniversary season last weekend. The Bumba children’s parade and the new Bumba show kicked off the 20th season with plenty of “magic” and entertainment. Plopsa Indoor Hasselt opened on December 24, 2005 as Plopsa’s first indoor amusement park. With its mix of indoor and outdoor attractions, shows and meet-and-greets with Studio 100 characters, the park recently welcomed its five millionth visitor (see EAP news of 15.01.25).
Gert Verhulst, co-founder of Studio 100, looks back: “It’s incredible to see where we are today. One of my fondest memories is the day in 2007 when, inspired by the song ‘10 Miljoen’, I handed out litres of lemonade and 100 kilos of chocolate to 1,000 fans. Plopsa Indoor Hasselt has only become more beautiful over the years”.
“Plopsa Indoor Hasselt will continue to be the place where young children have their first magical experience in an amusement park, whatever the weather. We will continue to invest in new experiences, shows and magical moments so that families can continue to make unforgettable memories here in the future. We are already ringing in the festive year with the Bumba Festival,” says a delighted Carl Lenaerts, CEO of the Plopsa Group. ■
