Russia: First Stage of Rides Assembling at Dream Island Indoor Park Completed
The first of 27 mechanical attractions at the Dream Island indoor park, which is currently under construction as part of the REGIONS Group’s equally named mixed-use complex in Moscow, are completely installed. For the “Mowgli in the Dino Land” theme area Germany’s Gerstlauer manufacturing company supplied a “Sky Fly” attraction, which will invite guests to interactive flight adventures in a height of almost 22 meters. Up to twelve guests will be able to experience the ride at the same time. A Fabbri drop tower, combining a classic mechanical ride and a media component, can now be found in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” area under the name of “Kraang Pime’s Portal Plunge”. Last but not least, highlights for kids will include the recently installed rotating drop tower from SBF-Visa, dubbed “Gargamel’s Tower” and located in the “Smurfs Village”. During the ups and downs of the tower’s seats kids can shoot at targets around them.
“The installation of the amusement rides is carried out in parallel with the construction of buildings and thematic elements of the park. We started with the largest themed area ‘Mowgli in the Dino Land’, its area will be more than 10,000 square meters. The ‘Sky Fly’ is the first of eight attractions which will be installed on its territory […],” explains Ivan Scholl, Technical Director of Dream Island theme park. By the end of May, about 90 percent of the park’s rides are planned to be installed; the opening of Dream Island is scheduled for autumn this year.
