Sweden: “Loke“ Gyro Swing Launched at Liseberg
Located in Gothenburg, Sweden’s Liseberg theme park today opens a part of its new “Ancient Norse Myths” theme area in due time for the start of this year’s season (c.f. theme park report, EAP, 2/17). This is also where visitors will find “Loke”, a new Gyro Swing from Intamin, named after the feared, equally-named giant from the Nordic mythology. Located close to the park’s “Balder” wooden coaster (Intamin), the gyro swing takes riders up to a height of 42 meters at a maximal angle of swing of 120°. The attraction offers room for 40 persons – with a ride duration of 100 seconds, its maximal capacity reaches 900 guests per hour.
For all those who do not dare to ride “Loke”, the new “Ragnarök” crossbow parcours challenges visitors’ accuracy. Furthermore, during this year’s season, the interactive “Klubbland” experience featuring the life of famous Swedish artist Håkan Hellström will move into Liseberg. With this novelties visitors to Liseberg have already much to discover, before Europe’s longest dive coaster “Valkyria”, manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard with a track length of just under 750 meters, will open in 2018.
