(eap) Toverland in the Netherlands set another visitor record last year. A total of 1,174,000 guests passed through the gates of the theme park in 2024 – more than in any previous season, the park announced yesterday. The reasons for this success include continuous investment in seasonal events, the park states: extended opening hours, the popular “Halloween Nights” and the “Winter Feelings” winter concept were a great success last season.

“The fact that we can celebrate a record number of visitors for the third year in a row is a great compliment to our team,” says Jean Gelissen Jr, Managing Director of Toverland. “Every day we strive to create magical experiences of happiness for our visitors. We achieve this by creating a high-quality offering with our park and by ensuring that our employees are truly committed to their work. This is also reflected in the great satisfaction of our guests.”

Toverland will continue to pursue its current strategy of investing in its event offering in 2025. This year, for example, the “Summer Feelings” event is to be completely renewed – with entertainment performances that bring the stories of Toverland to life even better. The park’s opening hours are also to be extended again.

In addition, the go-ahead was given in 2024 for the large-scale renovation of the wooden roller coaster “Troy” (opened in 2007, manufactured by Great Coasters International). The track of the ride is to be completely overhauled over a period of four years, each year during the winter months. Work is currently underway on the first drop and the horseshow element. “Twenty employees from our own team are working on the coaster, who are specially trained for this,” explains Gelissen. “Thanks to this renovation work, everyone will soon be able to enjoy great rides with Troy again. I am very proud that we can do all of this ourselves.” Troy is expected to reopen in mid-April.

Finally, construction of the “Clubhuis”, which will serve as a new, energy-neutral back office building for employees, is due to start after the summer this year. In addition to workstations, the clubhouse will also include a bistro, a dance studio with sports facilities and a large workshop. In the medium term, Toverland also aims at becoming a resort by adding permanent accommodation to the park.
