UK: Moonraker VFX Launches New Fulldome Film for Planetariums

Bristol-based VFX studio Moonraker VFX, which produces content for museums, attractions, TV, film and advertisers, has released its first original film for the fulldome market. “Moonbase: The Next Step” is the name of the 4K fulldome film, which is narrated by former NASA astronaut Nicole Scott. The production is designed to take viewers on a journey to the moon and provide an immersive experience of working and living on the celestial body.

Combining the two elements of cinematic visuals and the dome screen can be incredibly powerful – not only enhancing the storytelling experience but immersing vistitors in breathtaking worlds of astronomy and planetary science that feel almost tangible. The fulldome film was produced specifically for planetariums. In the future, however, spin-offs in other formats for TV, Augmented Reality and Flying Theaters are to follow. (eap)
