USA: Aquatica Orlando Receives Accreditation as Certified Autism Center

The Aquatica water park in Orlando, which is part of the SeaWorld Entertainment portfolio, has recently received the accreditation as “Certified Autism Center” from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) based in Jacksonville/Florida. The official certification by IBCCES is the result of an onsite review of the park property and its guest offerings as well as the successful completion of a staff-wide autism sensitivity and awareness training. In addition to tailored experiences for guests with special needs, the park will also have a quiet room inside the park for guests to take a break.

“As the first water park in the world to complete the training and become a Certified Autism Center, Aquatica Orlando is proud to provide fun and memorable experiences through exceptional service […],” said David Heaton, Vice President of Aquatica Orlando.

The accreditation of the water park follows sister park Sesame Palace based in Pennsylvania, also belonging to the SeaWorld group, which became a certified autism center theme park last April.

Among the novelties visitors to Aquatica Orlando can look forward to this upcoming season is the new “KareKare Curl” slide, a TornadoWave 60 from Canadian manufacturer ProSlide scheduled to open this spring. (eap)
