USA: Kings Island Lifts Secret On Its New Attraction
Kings Island, a theme park located in the US state of Ohio, recently revealed first details on its “#KIProject2017” project, which has been announced in April this year. Visitors can look forward to “Mystic Timbers”, a new wooden coaster manufactured by Great Coasters International. The new attraction will have a track length of approx. 995 meters (3,265 feet) and will measure 33.20 meters (109 feet) at its highest point. At a speed of around 85 km/h (53 mph) riders will pass over steep cliffs, 16 airtime hills, over water and through down ravines. A highlight will be an extreme S-turn and a tunnel, all in a densely-wooded area. The wooden coaster will be designed according to the theme of a lumber company becoming overrun by a mysterious medusa-like overgrowth of vines as nature moves in and reclaims its land. What there is in the shed near the end of the ride will still remain a secret to be discovered by riders when “Mystic Timbers” opens in the upcoming year.
The park’s fourth wooden coaster and at the same time its 16th roller coaster will be located in the “Rivertown” area, near “Diamondback” and “White Water Canyon”. (eap)
