USA: This Year’s Golden Ticket Award Winners Announced

This month the US magazine Amusement Today, specialized in international amusement and water park news and trends, awarded this year’s Golden Ticket Awards. The ceremony was held at Luna Park which is situated on New York’s peninsula Coney Island. In 25 categories the prize honors the best amusement parks and attractions. In order to select the winners, a survey with experienced amusement park voters around the world was conducted.
This year’s winners also include two European parks: Europa-Park, located in Germany’s Rust, was rated as “Best Amusement Park”. The award for the “Best Water Ride” was handed over to England’s Blackpool Pleasure Beach park for its “Valhalla” dark ride, which was opened in 2000.
Since 1998 Amusement Today has been honoring the “Best of the Best” within the leisure industry. (eap)
