(eap) A new water park manager simulation game entitled “Aquapark Tycoon”, created by German video games creator Boxelware, will be launched next year. On Windows, Linux, MacOS and consoles (TBD), water park fans will be able to build up their own swimming pool or spa paradise from scratch and design unique waterslides, pools and saunas. Management thinking, creativity and imagination are required to satisfy the virtual visitors in order to become an “Aquapark Tycoon”.

Water slides can be built freely in the game, including special sections such as steep bends, drops, funnels or black hole elements. Also, swimming pools can be individually designed in any shape. The choice of pool attractions, water types, depth or temperature has a direct impact on the attractiveness for different guest groups. Like swimming pools, saunas can also be designed in any form, whereby temperatures, fragrances and equipment can be customized. New attractions can be unlocked through research and new guests can be attracted by expanding the spa. Guests of different age groups come to visit the park, all of whom have different needs, which may well get in each other’s way. Forward-thinking planning is therefore necessary when building a park to really satisfy all guests.

The simulation game is being developed by Boxelware from Erlangen, which was founded in 2016 by Konstantin Kronfeldner. “Our goal for Aquapark Tycoon is for everyone to be able to recreate their own favourite water park from their childhood in the game – no matter how large or complex the pool is,” says Kronfelder. Boxelware uses an in-house engine to develop the game. The project is supported by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern. ■
