Plopsaland Resort Reports Record Year 2024
(eap) Plopsaland Resort – consisting of Plopsaland De Panne, Plopsaqua De Panne, Studio 100 Theater De Panne and the four different accommodation options – announced to have closed a record year 2024. According to the company, it achieved a 15 percent increase in turnover last year and welcomed more than 1.3 million guests to Plopsaland Park alone. The Plopsaqua water park welcomed some 270,000 guests. And the Studio 100 Theater, where the fairytale production “Snow White” (c.f. EAP news of 17 July 2024) was performed, recorded some 150,000 visitors.
The Plopsa Group, which belongs to Studio 100, attributes the increase in visitor numbers to the “Studio 100 Festival”, which focused on the film and TV production company’s characters for a whole year. The expansion of overnight accommodation also contributed to the growth: the recently opened Plopsaland Village with luxurious villas for six to twelve people is said to have had a successful start and an occupancy rate of over 70 percent over the Christmas vacations.
“The growth we have achieved in 2024 confirms that our focus on an overall experience is resonating. The strong visitor numbers show that families know how to find our resort for a unique mix of attractions, water fun, accommodation and entertainment. These record numbers are a great recognition of the hard work of our entire team,” says Carl Lenaerts, CEO of the Plopsa Group.
“The past year has shown that our visitors put their trust in us to continue investing in experiences. […] In 2025, we will continue this trend with the spectacular 25 Celebration Parade, with which we will celebrate our anniversary year in grand style,” adds Xavier Verellen, Chief Marketing & Sales Officer of the Plopsa Group.
This year, Plopsaland De Panne will debut the new “Night Watch” themed area (c.f. EAP news of 25 Feb 2025) and a new family attraction, “Wickie’s Wervelwind”.
